An Odd Footer Error

I recently complete a project following my standard format for this particular publisher. Everything went well, as usual except for the occasional odd/right page footer.

In the Master Page, I use the code <Chapter Title> so that the footer will pickup the chapter title. This has always worked and without problem. But in this one book, it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. For example, one chapter's title is:

      Tools for Rules and Procedures

Instead of being spaced as above, it is spaced as follows:

      Tools for Rulesand Procedures

that is, “Rules” and “and” are closed up. (I had intended to include JPG images to illustrate the problem, but I can't figure out how to add the images from my desktop computer.)

The problem does not occur in every instance; it occurs randomly.

      1. Any suggestions/ideas as to the cause?
      2. Any suggestions/ideas how to fix the problem without having to manually insert the chapter title on each page of the book?

      Thanks.

When you say it doesn't occur in every instance, do you mean that “Tools for Rulesand Procedures” will turn up a one or more times in that chapter, with the correct footer also? Or do you mean that some chapters do this and other chapters do not?

      Allen
