So I have a thing I am trying to make less terrible.

I have 113 documents that combine into one large book, three medium books, and are then also export individually.

Right now, the largest book is my problem because we’re preparing for the annual printing. I need to put alternating labels along the right edge of the page. As if the book had a physical tab that you were using to thumb through and navigate. One tab per section, then repeat. Just like binder tabs.

      So the questions are:
A: Can I automate this as a concept
B: If not, can I get the tab/label to stick to the right-hand only edge, without the use of master pages?

The text varies on every chapter and I don’t want to add 100ish master pages. The tabs are on a separate layer and are going to be turned off the the rest of the year as we continue to update digitally with new products.

      Hi Nora,

      Could you post screenshots?

Hopefully this makes it clearer. The tabs along the right-hand side need to alternate section by section. In this case, the tab will shift down once with each additional document added to the book.

Nora, not enough clear for me!

      Let’s make maths!

      113 docs,
      4 books,
      1 tab per section.

Be clearer! I just see 5 tabs in your sample!

They rotate. They start over again after the fifth one. Like this: https://www.amazon.com/Smead-Pocket-Project-Organizer-89206/dp/B072J873DF/
