      Hi guys
Is there an InDesign script that would let you align objects to column guides with a click of a button similar to the way the Align panel lets you align to margins, page, spread, selection and key object?
      Thanks

I have not seen anything like that, but it seems like it should be possible. You would need four options, yes? Snap to nearest left column guide; snap to nearest right column guide; snap to top margin; snap to bottom margin…

Yes, i think ‘snap to nearest’ would definitely do the trick.
A lot of the documents i work on have columns and once I’ve exhausted the snap to margin option i’m back to lining things up manually. A round about way is to align one object to a column manually and then use it as a key selection for the rest of them but it still takes time and not as easy and selecting a whole bunch and clicking a button.
      Thanks

      Hi V S,

Sorry for the delay here, but give this a shot, and let me know what you think: https://www.designtimesolutions.com/#scripts

It gives you the choice to snap to nearest left or right column guide, margin edge, or page edge. It looks for guides that the selections don’t overlap with.
