Hello, everyone, I am new here because I can't find a answer to my question else where. It may be a silly question to the experts here so please bare with me on that.

ok, my question is, how to align paragraphs between two columns.

Scenario, I want to lay out a story and its translation side by side on pages, so I created two columns on every pages and place the story in the left column and translation in right column. Although the story and its translation have different number of words, they do have the same number of paragraphs.

Problem, I want to make it easier to read and compare, so, I want the first line each paragraph in the story to align with the first line of each paragraph in the translation. I tried to make the text align with the baseline grid but the font and size of the story text is different from the translation.

My solution, the only way I can think of right now, is to manually separate every paragraphs from both stories into individual text frames and manually align them, I think it will work but it is quite tedious since the story is not that short.

In the end, does any one know a way to align the paragraphs in the two stories? Thank you for anyone can provide a feedback, Thank you again.

This can be complicated job right from the start, but you succeeded in making it yet even more complicated by using different fonts and sizes!

You can try if a table works for you. It needs only two columns, and then as much rows as you need — one per paragraph. You'll find that the row height will adjust to the size of the longest text inside the two cells, irregardless of their size and length.
