    For several years I’ve had a goal of taking the InDesign ACE Exam. And for several years, I kept pushing it to the next year. When I finally settled myself to take it in 2020, Adobe’s site said that they were currently updating the exam to reflect the latest version. So I signed up to receive an email once it was ready. In the meantime, I prepared for the Adobe Certified Professional exam and passed it. However, I would still love to take the ACE. I’ve checked back on Adobe’s site, but now I don’t see them mentioning the InDesign ACE exam any longer. Is anyone aware of the status? Is Adobe planning to bring the ACE exams back now that ACP are now being offered? Thanks in advance.

    Good question, Candi! No, I don’t currently expect Adobe to bring back the ACE exam. The only Adobe exams I know of now are the Pearson/Certiport ACP exams. And I agree, those aren’t really the same. LinkedIn Learning also has some exams that you could take. But nothing like the ACE.

    I’m curious, why do you feel like you want to take it? What’s the benefit for you? Thanks!

    Thanks David…that’s what I was afraid of. I conduct Basic InDesign training (6 hours) for my company (22,000+) once a quarter, mainly for our marketing folks and those that support them. They are designed for new hires and those who may not have started on the best foot with it, as well explain how we use it within the company. Although it’s not really necessary for my job (as they already see me as their InDesign expert), it’s largely self-gratification of achieving such honor. In preparing for ACP, I did had to learn so much more than my day-to-day stuff, and after 20 years of working with InDesign it was great to uncover new stuff. I am a LinkedIn Learning junkie, so that may be my only avenue to continue my exploration and discovery of the world of InDesign. (SMILE)

    You could consider taking the Adobe Certified Instructor for Design & Layout exam: https://spark.adobe.com/page/8Ccmgtv8R0ebT/

    I helped develop the exam along with a few others. It mainly covers InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, with a bit of Creative Cloud and publishing workflow questions.

    Adobe certification is really fractured, no longer a list of ACE exams. sigh.
