Adding anchored text to pictures AFTER they have been imported

      I am designing a catalog for an art company. Each product photo will have one or two lines of text below each picture on the page- SKU, name of image, size etc.

      In the past, I have used indesign datamerge to create a long multipage ‘contact sheet’ of the images with their respective text below each shot. Then I rearrange the images through out the catalog according to how I feel they look best next to each other, theme etc. It is time consuming, and I would much rather just DRAG all pics into specific spreads, arrange for composition, and THEN somehow attach the anchored text below each image. Automatically.

      Is there a utility that will go through a document and automatically attach text below each image?

      This is an example of a catalog I made using the above workflow, you will see the images are not in numerical order, as they were in excel dataset.
