Hi 1st time post long time reader,

I have tables of numbers eg. 146(221) and I need to put a bar space in-between the first number and the first open bracket only, while not finding already opened numbers next to brackets (if such a special move can be done!). I’ve tried variations for normal find and replace but would really like a solid GREP code to use.

Thanks in advance, this website is amazing!

Sorry, we had a Forum Failure Moment, and lost a couple hours of forum posts. Just replied to himself earlier this morning:

Also I would like to know if there is a way of having a set of figures in one column and a set in the next column combining 2 columns to have the numbers 111 (222) in one column. I am copy pasting from Excel.
This would save a lot of time in my project. Thanks
      Hoping for a super move!

Justin, you could probably use a grep code like (\d)(\(\d) and replace it with $1 $2.

As for combining the numbers… perhaps just merge cells? Or, convert the table to text, then replace that tab with a space, then convert back to a table?
