Add chapter number to master page

      Any idea how to add auto chapter numbers to master pages?
      I am setting up a portfolio with multiple chapters. Each chapter has a front (master) page with the “chapter name” and “chapter number.”
      How do I set up automatic numbering for the chapter numbers (so that the number increases based on the order of the chapter name)?

      Hi Trista, you can create a paragraph style with a numbered list (create a new one called ‘chapter number’). Use this on your first masterpage, it will be numbered ‘1’. Now duplicate that masterpage and it will be numbered ‘2’ and so on. One other method is to work with sections, changing each section on the page where a new chapter starts.
