This Week in InDesign Articles, Number 16
Some cool scripts, a video, and some links.
Fewer than usual links this week, folks, but what I got is pretty nifty!
First, Keith Gilbert has written a wonderful little script (you can get it here)… he writes that it is “in response to your ‘plea’ in episode 112 for a script to expose the hidden functionality of Balance Ragged Lines.” This is cool. As podcast listeners know, I prefer my headings to be longer on the bottom, but the Balance Ragged Lines feature prefers top-heavy paragraphs. So Keith wrote a couple of scripts — one to view what the current status of the paragraph is and one to change it.

Thanks, Keith! I feel better now!
Other Links
Here’s a couple other links you should see:
- The 2010 Adobe Design Achievement Awards
- Converting Blogger to InDesign via XML
- Jeff Witchel’s Super Stroke Tricks video at Layers in which he talks about how to make custom stripes
- This impressive tool lets you add scripts to a menu. (I’m biased, so I just need to say that Blatner Tools also offers an option to add scripts to an “Extras” menu, rename them, and so on.)
Enjoy!
Last minute addition
Oh man… My friend Glenn Fleishman tweeted this Neutraface typography/music video and I must, must, must embed it here.
Sorry; that song will be stuck in your head for 3 days now.
