This Week in InDesign Articles, Number 11
Eight InDesign links you'll want to check out!
Oh what a beautiful day it is! And for many people, a happy new year. A time of beginnings, of new ways of looking at the world and ourselves. And a time to learn. Always more to learn. Here are some new articles that I’ve found on the topic of InDesign that are sure to help:
- Need to get a publication on the Kindle? Adobe has recently released a white paper that should help. It relies on the free Calibre conversion utility, but it’s a good overview of the subject.
- Looks like the folks over at PaperSpecs are offering a free webinar on paper folding (presented by Trish “foldfactory.com” Witkowski. It’s Sept 24.
- AdobeTV has a new look. At the time I write this, they only have 2 of our 6 videocasts up there, but they’ve promised to add the others soon.
- Bob Bringhurst, InDesign-doc-writer-extraordinaire, continues to collect all kinds of good stuff on his blog, like this roundup of cool text effects. Thanks for pointing back to some of our posts, Bob!
- Hey, Nigel French has updated his InDesign Typography title at lynda.com! Of course, while you’re there, be sure to check out the other InDesign titles, such as 10 Troubleshooting Tricks and 10 Essential Tricks.
- Kris Coppieters at Rorohiko wrote up a great little tutorial on how to populate a template with a bunch of images quickly, using ImageHorn.
- I loved watching this fun “movie trailer” for the font Heroine.
- And I’m still trying to figure out where Mike found this amazing book by cats on publishing.
Wow, that’s plenty to keep you busy!
Until next week… happy InDesigning!
