This Month in InDesign Articles, October 2017
Oh, it’s a busy, busy time… Not only are we opening registration for CreativePro Week 2018 tomorrow, but we just got back from Adobe MAX, which was great fun… We even had a booth this year in the exhibition hall where we met hundreds of people from the community.
And… amongst all of that, I’ve still be collecting new articles and videos you should know about:
- If you’re learning GREP in InDesign, you need this guide. If you already know GREP in InDesign, you need it even more!
- OK, this short video is pretty incredible: a coming-soon tool from ID-Extras.com that uses Google Translate to translate text inside an InDesign document!
- My favorite session at Adobe MAX is “Sneaks”… there weren’t any InDesign-specific features this year, but you have to see the video of Project Lincoln!
- Here’s a Laurie Ruhlin video on an important topic for all InDesign users: setting up preferences and workspaces.
- Who doesn’t love letterpress?! My friend Glenn Fleishman has been doing a lot of it recently… and now my friend Jeff Carlson wrote a terrific article about it in Adobe Create. (He also followed up with more information and photos here.)
- Here’s a fun little very basic tutorial on how to lay out a children’s book in InDesign
- If you use Acrobat and Dropbox, you need to be aware that commenting in one is not the same as commenting in the other. Different systems!
- Need a calendar template for InDesign? Here is a new service which is very interesting! (Free for a small preview, and if you like it, then you can pay for the full version.)
- When was the last time you watched Trish’s 60-second Foldfactory Fold of the Week? She recently published #400! (Awesome accomplishment.) And you can’t watch just one… here’s #401.
- Marc updated the Indiscripts “Goodies” page… good stuff! Check it out.
- Adam Jury shares his favorite PDF preset for digital publishing
- Did you know that Quark makes a tablet app creation tool (called AppStudio) that works with InDesign? They have a new version of their plug-in available here.
Enjoy!
