The Association of Photographers' Annual Competition Now Open

For everyone who is passionate about photography, the AOP Open is the perfect opportunity to gain recognition for their outstanding images. Open to everyone, from professional photographers to weekend snappers, the Open gives participants the chance to have their pictures exhibited in the AOP Gallery and become published in the new AOP Open Book.
The Open competition has no restrictions on theme or category and only accepts single images, no series or projects. The idea is to create an exhibition which showcases the diversity and skill of photographers from all levels, bringing them together to form one exhibition and this year, a book. The Open is one of the few major photographic competitions that does this.
Judged by industry creatives drawn from photographic, design, advertising and editorial backgrounds, the very best images will be exhibited at the AOP Gallery, London from August 19th to September 12th 2008. Awards will be presented to the ‘Best in Show’, along with a ‘Judges Choice’ selection, and a ‘Public Choice’ winner at the gala ceremony at the AOP Gallery on August 21st.
The Call for Entries closes at 6pm on Friday June 27th and each image costs £12 to enter. For full information and to download an entry form, visit: https://www.the-awards.com.
The AOP Open is in its ninth year and attracts around 2,000 entries from all over the world. It is run and endorsed by the Association of Photographers, who are a not for profit trade association for commercial photographers, protecting their rights and promoting photography.
They campaign for all photographers rights and the awards programmes they run, promote the best in photography. They also provide information services, education programmes, exhibitions and publications to support these activities and bring together professional photographers from around the globe.
