TechSmith Introduces SnagIt 7.2 and a New Firefox Extension

TechSmith Corp., the world’s leading provider of screen capture and recording solutions, today announced availability of SnagIt 7.2 and an extension for Mozilla’s Firefox browser, allowing Mozilla’s large and loyal user community to enjoy all of SnagIt’s benefits.
SnagIt’s new capabilities include expanded Web capture that enables Web surfers to capture multimedia and Microsoft Office files, a filtering capability to block SnagIt from capturing content from specific Web sites, and precision capture-to-print functionality so that users can manipulate images prior to printing or saving them.
SnagIt’s extension for the Firefox browser enables users to take screen captures of an entire scrolling window, Web page, region, or even text that can be edited. The screen captures can be sent to files, clipboards, printers, or e-mail.
New features in SnagIt 7.2 include:

  • Enhanced desktop integration – users can now right click on any image and edit the image in the SnagIt Editor or instantly batch convert the image from one format to another. Additionally, users now have the option to set the SnagIt Editor as the default for any of the 23 file formats supported by SnagIt.
  • Enhanced desktop integration – users can now right-click on any of the 23 supported image file formats to convert to a different format or batch convert multiple files with SnagIt’s image editor. Uses can also make SnagIt their default image editor.
  • Expanded Web capture — users may capture any graphic, audio or video file from the Internet, and use SnagIt’s new Web filter to block captures from banner ads and specific domains.
  • Improved edge effects and rich text editing — users may incorporate multiple colors, fonts, styles, alignments and other features into a single text box.
  • Precision capture-to-print functionality — users have one-touch options for repositioning a capture within the print layout for proper printing, and several scaling options that don’t distort the aspect ratio.
