Stay Fit While You Sit
As creative professionals doing a majority of our work on a computer, we are each aware that we sit too much. Lately there has been quite the influx of standing and adjustable desks in the marketplace. However, they tend to be quite large or expensive and are often not an option for those working in an office that is satisfied with the scrinium status quo. The folks at FitnessCubed have launched a Kickstarter campaign to bring their Cubii sitting elliptical machine to market. A third of the way through the fundraising period, they are more than half-way to their goal.
Cubii allows the user to continue as usual with their daily desk-bound tasks, while getting in some crucial exercise. The feedback and research has taken into account the importance of a sleek design and practical application, such as not having the user’s knees bang the desk during use. When production is complete, Cubii should weigh around 25 pounds, which will be easy to lift thanks to the integrated handle. The Cubii features adjustable intensity controls and rubber grips on the pedals. The underdesk elliptical can be paired via Bluetooth with the companion smartphone app and can even sync with existing fitness trackers and tracking apps.
