SmileOnMyMac has released an HTML shortcut snippet file for use with TextExpander, the customizable typing utility for Mac OS X. With the file installed, users can easily insert common HTML code elements by typing short abbreviations.
The file features over 60 snippets that can be inserted with short abbreviations. In addition to HTML code, the snippet file includes special characters that can be inserted into HTML documents, such as currency symbols and punctuation.
The free file can be downloaded at https://www.smileonmymac.com/textexpander/snippets.html. SmileOnMyMac also offers an autocorrect snippet file, containing over 100 common misspellings that can be automatically corrected by TextExpander by the correct spellings.
"Users and reviewers suggested that HTML code snippets would be a useful add-on for TextExpander," said Jean MacDonald, SmileOnMyMac’s marketing director and web designer, who developed the HTML snippet file. "What I really like is that it doesn’t matter whether I’m working in Dreamweaver or BBEdit or even TextEdit. The expansions work in all these applications."
