Scanning Around With Gene: How Many Markers Were On Your Taboret?
One of my favorites is the Faymus (sic) brand of pens that “mark like magic,” a quick attempt to cash in on the notoriety of the more famous Magic brand. And how can you not like a marker called the “Squeezo”?

Of course, you can still buy markers. I imagine just about every home in America has at least one Sharpie in it, the “WD-40” of markers. The Sharpie brand goes back many decades and has changed very little over the years. And I’m pretty sure you can still buy Draws-a-lot, but apparently after being purchased by Crayola in 1989, the Magic Marker brand eventually faded into obscurity.

I recently bought a big color assortment of Sharpies at Costco, and I use them all the time around the house, mostly to cover up a scratch or chip out of some treasured memento.
I salute you, Sidney Rosenthal! I love your invention and couldn’t imagine life without my “magic” markers.
How many felt-tip markers did you have on your taboret? Please post a comment and share your marker memories.
