I don’t know if any of the images I chose are particularly rare or valuable, though I did recognize some of the names. Here is Charles Comiskey, who I recognized (1887), and William Bergen and Jacob Daubert from the Brooklyn Nationals, who I did not recognize.

The American Tobacco Company put out a lot of different card styles. Here are two early ones, from 1909 and one of Johnny Evers of the Chicago Cubs in 1911.

Cards came in different sizes and shapes, depending on the item being packaged. I don’t know when they started combining baseball cards and gum. Here’s a round card of Art Devlin of the NY Giants (1909-1912) and horizontal cards from 1909-1911.

While I never collected baseball cards, I did have Batman cards and a Man From Uncle set. And I remember when there were Beatle cards. But there is no question that baseball cards are the mother of all collectible cards. Still, I’d rather have a full set of the Beatles.
