Reply To: Remove character in running head

So created a new blank Character Style called running head and then applied it to the running text variable head on my master page. Set up the Nested style as you suggested and it doesn’t work. My text variable is set as a paragraph style and keyed to Section Title. If i change it to a character based running head, nothing gets put into the running head. Am I doing something wrong?
