Thanks Eugene.  I'm going to go back and attempt to follow your advice.  I'm going to have to re-thread the text in the original order though.  its not a bunch of pages but tedious nonetheless.

If I click on a top left corner and fill my placeholder…and then click to place it somewhere and NO text comes up but a frame does….does this mean its empty?  I have a few text frames like that that are threaded seperately from my original document.  but I can't see any text in them.
