Could be an optical issue. Colors, as well shades of grey, turns to be optical slightly different then they truly are. 

If that ain't the case; are you using a (lightning) blend mode, such as screen etc.? Also ensure that you use the right color profiles within your image or otherwise at your soft-proof dialog.
