Reply To: Inline Figure Numbering: Best Practice

I’ve referred to that guide numerous times, and I’m still having the same basic issue: When I insert a new figure between existing figures 1 and 2, the new figure should become figure 2, and the former figure 2, become figure 3.

It doesn’t.

It changes the newly inserted figure to Figure 1, the old figure 1 to figure 2, and the old figure 2 to figure 3.

Sorry…I’ve been dealing with this for several days and it’s becoming extremely frustrating. I don’t want to revert to the style of documentation that we’ve been using for years which is cluttered figure pages or graphics jammed in across the bottom of a page.
