Reply To: Automate change object layer option

That is very strange. I just tested it and it works correctly for me.
I tried two different methods: setting the layers using the “show import options” dialog box (during Place) and using Object > Object Layer Options. I set layer visibility for the layered PSD file. Then I changed the PSD file and saved it. When I go back to InDesign and click Update, the layer visibility overrides that I set remain.

The only thing I can think of is: Are you adding or deleting layers in the Photoshop file? That can confuse InDesign.
