As the user uses an auto-numbering for the “image-title” para, he will just need 2 things to make it totally automatic:

1/ insert a grep style the current para styles:

Grep code: Fig\.\KFigure
Char style: invisible

[there’s a script to include this grep style in batch.]

2/ define his cross-ref. format as:

Fig.<paraNum />

That’s all! Clue: Don’t forget cross-ref. are “text”!
