Quark Acquired By Investment Firm

Platinum Equity, an investment firm based in Los Angeles, has acquired Quark, the company behind publishing software QuarkXPress.
I asked Quark PR representative Sarah Rector several questions that may be on the minds of Quark users. Her answers are below.
CreativePro.com: Will the company keep the name “Quark”?
Quark: Yes.
CreativePro.com: Will Quark continue to support QuarkXPress?
Quark: Absolutely. Our senior leadership, product management, and engineering teams will continue to create the vision, strategy, and technological roadmaps that will guide our success, which includes QuarkXPress and a focus on dynamic and digital publishing. We’re particularly excited about the future for QuarkXPress with the release of App Studio later this month.
CreativePro.com: Are there any applications that will be discontinued?
Quark: There are currently no plans to discontinue any of our product line. Again, our senior leadership, product management, and engineering teams will continue to create our vision, strategy, and technological roadmaps. Nothing changes here.
CreativePro.com: The press release says that there will be a new focus on “expanding the breadth and depth of Quark’s product capabilities”. What does that refer to exactly?
Quark: Platinum Equity is a global investment firm that brings to Quark expertise in mergers and acquisitions, which will help us identify and acquire resources that will advance our dynamic and digital publishing solutions.
CreativePro.com: Does Platinum Equity plan to sell Quark to another company?
Quark: There are currently no plans to sell Quark.
CreativePro.com: Will there be personnel changes as a result of the acquisition?
Quark: No. Logistically, not much will change. Our personnel will remain the same, our products and solutions will continue to move forward, we’ll continue to maintain our global business presence, and we’ll remain focused on dynamic publishing.
