Plumb the Depths of Your InDesign Layout
Excerpted from the InDesign Secrets video training course on lynda.com.
An InDesign page may look flat, but it’s often made up of layers of text and images. When those objects are stacked on top of each other, it can be difficult to select the right layer, especially when they overlap. For example, how often have you clicked on a text frame to edit it and mistakenly selected the graphic beneath the text instead?
That can be frustrating, but there are tricks that will help you select through and into objects — even when they’re in groups! A few of these tricks work only in InDesign CS5, but many others apply to CS3 and CS4, too.
