one2edit Enables Web-based Publishing Workflows

Do you use InDesign to produce brochures, books, flyers, catalogs, packaging, or ads? Do you work with a team whose members are distributed over long distance in multiple locations? Ever wish you could streamline your editorial, translation, or print production workflows? Then you should definitely check out a product called one2edit. With one2edit, marketing, creative, and print pros can review, edit, translate, and deliver InDesign content from anywhere, without using InDesign.

one2edit features a web application that allows users to create production workflows and edit InDesign documents right in a browser. With one2edit, non-design professionals like marketing managers, brand managers, translators, and others can edit InDesign documents according to the rules set up by the designer.

Using simple drag-and-drop tools, a designer can quickly create workflows that can be saved and reused. There is no need to tag content or program complex templates. And there are no design restrictions. one2edit can handle anything you can create in InDesign.

one2edit is built on InDesign Server, so all the actual InDesign work takes place on the back end. The system transfers changes made in the web view to the InDesign document, and then instantly sends an updated preview back to the browser.

Another major use for the system is to provide online templates. For example, if you’re a designer working for a large enterprise creating branded templates, you can design the templates, and then make them available to field marketing teams via one2edit. Then, anyone with the access rights can use your template to create their own document with their content, on demand.

one2edit can be used to enhance and extend technology that you already have in place. Since it’s built on open standards technology, it can be integrated with other publishing systems, databases, and content management systems.
