New Internet Software/Service Delivers Large Files to Assist People in the Graphic Arts Industry
Designed to move files that exceed email size limits, typically of a few megabytes, FilePorter, Inc. is introducing its web-browser-based file transfer service.
FilePorter provides graphic artists, art directors, and others with the ability to quickly and easily share images, desktop publishing and other massive files while avoiding the inefficiencies and security-holes inherent in traditional file sharing software or the delays and expense of putting files on a CD for overnight package delivery.
From the FilePorter web page, users have only to select a file, enter one or more recipient addresses, and click the send button.
Recipients receive an e-mail with an embedded link that, once clicked on, retrieves the file. FilePorter then automatically sends a confirming e-mail to the sender indicating the recipient has received the file.
The recipient knows the size, content and sender of the file before saving it to their computer drive. The sender knows the minute it is received. A job reference can also be supplied when sending a file to assign costs to recipients.
FilePorter subscriptions start at as little as $15 a month and are both MAC and PC compatible. A 60-Day free trial is available on the company’s web site www.fileporter.com. For more information contact FilePorter, Inc. at voice:
