New Epson Printers Are Affordable Workhorses
Epson’s WorkForce all-in-one printers won’t blow your socks off with tabloid sizes, gallery-ready photos, or accurate CMYK colors. But the new WorkForce 435, 545, 645 and 845 are fast and inexpensive, ranging from $99 to $199. And they come with workhorse features you’ll value, including double-sided output, wireless connectivity, automatic document feeders, and memory card slots. All can function as copiers, scanners, and fax machines as well as printers.
The most expensive of the new models is the WorkForce 845, which is still just $199. It can print 15 one-sided black-and-white pages every minute, and 9.3 one-sided color pages every minute. It can also print two-sided pages, although those print speeds are of course about half as fast. The 845 holds 500 sheets in its paper tray.

The WorkForce 645 costs $149. Its black-and white printing is just as fast as the 845, and its color speed is only a few pages per minute slower than the 845. It can output both one- and two-sided from its paper tray, which holds 250 sheets.

The $129 WorkForce 545 shares the color and black-and-white print speeds of the 645.

The $99 Epson WorkForce 435 has a slightly larger ink droplet size, and slower print speeds: 6.3 ppm when printing with black ink only, and 3.3 ppm for color pages.
