New Class at UC Berkeley Extension: "Migrating from QuarkXPress to InDesign"
UC Berkeley Extension, School of Art & Design, will offer an exciting new Spring semester class, "Migrating from QuarkXPress to InDesign." The class was developed and will be taught by industry-renowned expert Diane Burns, who co-authored the best seller The Official QuarkXPress Handbook, and is now a frequent contributor to InDesign Magazine, as well as a regular speaker at The InDesign Conference.
This 15-hour course will be held over 2 weeks in March at UC’s computer lab on their downtown San Francisco campus, located near the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The course is geared to graphics professionals who are making the transition from QuarkXPress to InDesign as their layout tool of choice. The hands-on course will help QuarkXPress power users become comfortable with InDesign and start them on their way to becoming InDesign power users. With her extensive background in the design and publishing field, Ms. Burns brings practical insights to the application’s features and how to best utilize them in a professional environment. Class time will combine lecture and useful exercises that are otherwise not publicly available.
Space is limited, and registration is now being accepted online at https://www.unex.berkeley.edu/cat/course1319.html. Call 510-642-4111 for more information on this and other courses in the Art & Design Professional Sequence in Graphic Design Certificate program.
