Mural.ly takes Pinterest to the Next Level

The rapid rise of Pinterest (10 million users and counting) shows just how much people love to have a place where they can discover and collect their favorite visual content. But what can you do with that stuff once you’ve collected it? All that pinning could be just the first step in a design workflow where you find inspiration, work with others to refine your ideas into something new, and present it to clients and other decision makers. That’s the concept behind Mural.ly.

Billed as "a place to grow ideas," Mural.ly allows users to aggregate content like pictures, text, and videos into visual maps, which can then be used in a collaborative fashion for inspiration, brainstorming, and presentations.

Once you create an account (it’s free), you can create your first mural, with a description and tags, and invite collaborators. You can control who can see your murals by making them public or private. From there you can add content by drag and dropping it from your computer or any website. You can label content with text boxes and sticky notes, and add shapes, stickers, backgrounds, and comments.

Once the mural is created, controls allow users to pan and zoom, and to enter full screen mode to use their mural as the basis for a presentation.
