Kodak's Tech Brief Helps Consumers Print Brighter, More Vivid Digital Pictures

Can a digital photo be too sharp? Or too bright? Imaging researchers at Eastman Kodak Company have guidelines to help picture-takers make apples-to-apples comparisons when selecting methods to print their digital pictures.
In a world in which people can print pictures at local retail stores, in their homes, and online, which printing choices make the most sense? Lifestyle plays some part – some consumers can’t wait for their pictures, others like the online ability to perform edits, as offered at www.kodakgallery.com.
To compare picture quality, Kodak researchers recommend starting with images you know are sharp and well-lit. Place them on a memory card, then try several printing options – for example, an in-store print kiosk, an order from an online service provider, and a demonstration printer in a consumer electronics store. Compare the different prints, and select the output that’s most satisfying.
For most consumers, it comes down to getting real pictures that meet their expectations, which go back to the photos they keep from their film photography days. Many consumers expect the attention to detail they historically received from Kodak processing that’s available today from KODAK EasyShare Printer Docks, KODAK PictureMaker kiosks, or via the online EasyShare Gallery.
