Kodak and WhatTheyThink Conduct Informative Web Session: Sustainability is the New Green

WhatTheyThink.conducted a free printing industry educational webinar, Sustainability is the New Green, featuring Rick Mazur, Commercial Segment Market Leader for Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group, who has been deeply involved in Kodak’s internal and customer sustainability initiatives. The event was sponsored by Kodak and attended by nearly 300 printing and publishing professionals from around the globe.
The no-charge archive for this session is available here. https://members.whattheythink.com/home/webinars/webinar080625.cfm
“Our objective in conducting this session was to share the wealth of knowledge and resources Kodak has accumulated relative to the ability for printers to improve their sustainability footprint,” said Mazur. “The session archive contains links to a number of resources printers can utilize, as well as a sustainability survey that will help printers evaluate their current state.”
Mazur pointed out that sustainability goes beyond simply reducing emissions and recycling, defining sustainability as taking steps beyond compliance to continually improve the economic environmental and social performance of a business, product or service. “Printers should also keep in mind that environmental regulations are continuing to become more stringent,” he added. “By 2050, the Greenhouse Gas cap will be set at 70% below 2005. So now is the time to begin planning as the requirements begin to escalate to that level.”
“We are pleased that Kodak sponsored this free event, and is willing to share its knowledge and research relative to sustainability,” said Randy Davidson, President, WhatTheyThink. “I believe printers will find Mazur’s sustainability test to be a useful tool as they evaluate their businesses. Mazur also includes practical steps for completing a sustainability audit.”
