Jasc Media Center Plus 3.0
Media Center Plus 3.0, from the creators of the award winning Paint Shop Pro, is a very affordably priced asset management program designed for the individual user. It boasts many of the features found in much more expensive programs, the catch being no functionality for workgroups. This program allows you to organize and categorize a wide array of file formats, including MPEG, AVI, and MP3’s (the notable exception is QuickTime movies). Media Center Plus also boasts full TWAIN support for a large number of digital cameras and scanners. This latest release boasts enhanced publishing capabilities: you can publish to HTML, CD-ROM, print, or text. All images can be viewed as thumbnails, and once organized the images can be displayed as a slideshow. In addition, all images can be directly uploaded to Jasc’s online digital community StudioAvenue.com.
Bottom line: Not the software for a large corporate workgroup environment; but for the individual or small business user, the low price and the versatility of the software combine into a package that is hard to pass up.
