Interview with the InComparable Anne-Marie Concepcion
Q&A with Anne-Marie Concepcion, who is presenting at The InDesign Conference 2025

As the founder and president of Seneca Design & Training, the co-founder of CreativePro Network, co-host of the InDesign Secrets podcast, and LinkedIn Learning Instructor with over 30 courses to her credit, Anne-Marie Concepcion has provided top notch training and consultation for countless InDesign users around the world.
She’s also speaking at The InDesign Conference 2025, which takes place December 9–12 online, with a session on Collaborative Workflows for Editorial Teams.
We thought it would be fun to get to know her better with some Q&A.
Your audience can always count on you for a good laugh. Where does your sense of humor come from?
It comes from a lifetime of pain and heartache. All you can do is laugh through your tears. No, actually I grew up in a large family that loved making each other laugh, and we still do.
Your work has had such a lasting impact on the creative community. When you look back at your career, what makes you proudest?
I’m most proud of the scores of classes I taught on-site at companies, all the people I taught to gain confidence in the work they do on the computer. I remember all of them and the fun we had.
You’ve spoken at many shows over the years. What excited you about this particular event and made you want to be part of it?
It’s been a while since I’ve spoken at an all-InDesign event. I feel like I’m with my tribe.
Tell us about your session, Collaborative Workflows for Editorial Teams. What do you hope attendees will take away from it?
I hope they’ll learn that designers gain from helping editors take more control during production and proofing.
And finally, since this is The InDesign Conference… What’s one InDesign feature that more people should know about?
More people should know about Quick Apply! It’s so useful beyond calling up style sheets — I use it often to invoke menu commands and preference settings, too. Prevents a lot of menu digging!
