InDesign Documents on Behance

If you’re like me, you probably have looked at the portfolios on Behance and wondered how you, as an InDesign user, could get involved.

Most of the portfolios are photos, illustrations, etc. from Photoshop and Illustrator.

But what about multi-page design?

Book designs. Branding. Multi-page ads. Interior book pages. Posters. Brochures. Flyers. Menus. Etc. Etc. The possibilities are endless.

There is the File > Share on Behance command in InDesign. But that command only uploads the first page or spread of a document. That’s really not enough to display the brilliance of your InDesign documents.

Interactivity and Animations?

And the Share on Behance feature doesn’t do anything to show interactivity, multimedia, and animations in InDesign files. For many designers this is the new age where they can really shine.

There didn’t seem to be any way to get a full representation of our work up there.

Until now!

From Publish Online to Behance

The new Publish Online (preview) technology in InDesign CC 2015 provides designers a great way to fill their portfolio with examples of your work.

Even better, it also allows you to include interactivity with multi-media, animations, and buttons.

But how do you get this into Behance?

All you need is an embed code to add a Publish Online link to Behance. Here’s one that I got from the InDesign Product Manager for one of my Publish Online documents:

<iframe src="https://indd.adobe.com/view/6fd86743-bffc-42aa-afbc-1ba9f0d46191" style="height: 800px; width: 100%;" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Now I don’t know much about codes, etc., but I was able to use the same embed code to post a different Publish Online link (marked in red above). I’m assuming you could use something similar for your files.

Cool!

If you want to see my projects in Behance, just go to: https://www.behance.net/sandeecohen I expect to have more posted in the next few weeks.
