InCopySecrets.com Goes Live!

A new web site and blog, InCopySecrets.com, provides tips, techniques, resource links, late-breaking news, and even a free monthly e-zine for people working in an Adobe InDesign/InCopy workflow. Designers and editors alike can find a lot to love about this site, as until now, independent, third-party information and tutorials about the InCopy workflow has been basically non-existent.
Anne-Marie Concepción, the host of InCopySecrets.com (a “sister site” to InDesignSecrets.com, which she co-hosts with David Blatner) says while the blog does publish a lot of content for designers, it’s primarily aimed at editors. “The InDesign user is the one who manages the workflow – they make the assignments and export the stories, so of course InCopySecrets.com provides great tips for designers,” she says. “But more than that, I see the site as being a sanity-saver for editors and copywriters. Once they left Word behind, they left a huge Word support community behind as well. InCopySecrets.com is coming to their rescue.”
The design of InCopySecrets.com is clean and simple, with “lots of white space, and very little eye candy, on purpose,” says Anne-Marie. To further accommodate harried workflow users, she’s set up a simple “subscribe by e-mail” form so they can get new blog posts delivered to their in box, without having to check the blog or their RSS reader.
And, Anne-Marie will continue to publish her free monthly e-zine, InCopyFlow (subscription form on the site), which she started in 2007. “Each issue will have an in-depth story, and a summary of the “best of the blog” since the last issue went out, with links to the full stories,” she says.
