IMAKE Announces Asset Manager and Workflow Specifically Targeted for Content Providers and Aggregators

BETHESDA, Md. — IMAKE Software & Services, Inc. has unveiled v4.3 of the OpenVision Asset Manager specifically designed for content providers. This latest version cuts through the complexity of content distribution to multiple markets from a single platform simply and easily, including automated distribution to cable, telcos, web sites and mobile media.
Content providers face multiple challenges in getting their content to market including multiple metadata formats, multiple file formats, encryption rules, transmission planner formats, MPEG quality assurance and distribution methods (such as FTP, CIFS, DVD, Disk and Pitcher/Catcher). The OpenVision Asset Manager simplifies these challenges through the ease and flexibility of its intuitive workflows and automated business rules. In addition, new features such as ‘ad package’ metadata, creation of playlists as well as concatenation of ads and sponsorships enable content providers to implement targeted advertising solutions with their service providers, generating another revenue source.
Content providers will want to take advantage of IMAKE’s new product features to get their assets to market faster. For example, out of the box, a content provider can distribute their VOD assets simultaneously to cable providers, DBS providers, telco networks and online retailers such as iTunes and Amazon, in multiple file formats, supporting different metadata templates with different distribution methodologies. IMAKE will support any specified metadata format within 60 days.
IMAKE has made integrating to third party products (transcoders, encryption, quality assurance, water marking, etc.) simple through its externalized ‘Gateways’ and has workflows implemented to illustrate the status and control of these third party components. As part of Workflow Management for content ingestion, pre-processing and distribution, the OpenVision AMS allows the user to set prioritizations and see the status of content pre-processing via queues and the ability to view the delivery of assets, packages and offers to streaming or download video servers, broadband or websites and wireless. Whether its short news or sports clips, full length movies, half hour shows, games or advertising content, IMAKE can take it through Content Provider workflow steps of: content creation, content transmission, content ingest, multi-format output creation, asset packaging, library or catalogue management and digital content distribution. Integrations to MPEG quality assurance solutions, transcoding solutions and encryption solutions from companies such as Tektronix, Manzanita, Motorola, Verimatrix, WideVine and NDS give the content provider ready solutions with high quality, secure digital content, metadata and delivery time frames in days, not weeks or months. Each of these attributes are enabled through automated business rules, wherein setup is performed once and the system is left to run on its own, giving the user more productive time to enhance their content product offering.
Additional features such as support for multiple output transmission planner formats, updated offer schedules to show category and on-air content by the week and month give the content provider easy visibility into where, when and for how much assets are hitting the market. The Offer Category (or Folder) Viewer provides the Content Provider with how the Asset will look on the end consumer premises device in multiple different distribution site (such as Comcast, Verizon, etc.) configurations. By the 3rd quarter of 2008, the OpenVision Asset Manager will be one of the first in the industry to support the CableLabs 2.0 metadata specification, which includes the concept of bundled offers.
IMAKE has made significant investments in VOD distribution so content providers don’t have to. IMAKE’s Asset Manager does the hard work of validation, distribution, encryption, file transcoding and video quality assurance, so content providers can focus on their core business of creating content and marketing initiatives that bring value to the Service Providers for delivering the product to the end consumer.
