Get Creative VIDEO: News for the Week of November 26, 2007

This week’s videocast is sponsored by the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and PrintingForLess.com.
Here’s what you’ll find in this week’s videocast:
News
A new book, Scott Kelby’s 7-Point System for Adobe Photoshop CS3, is a must-read.
Windows XP and Vista users who prefer the Safari Web browser can now download the Beta Update 3.0.4.
If you watch a lot of video online (like this cast, for example), you’ll benefit from Miro, a free application that
helps you search for, subscribe to, and view a mountain of videocasts. Miro runs on Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux.
The PhizzPop Design Challenge pits top designers against one another to push the limits of technology and creativity. If you live in or are visiting New York, Boston,
Chicago, Austin, or Los Angeles, you can watch the regional teams duke it out in person. Register at https://designchallenge.phizzpop.com.

Top 5 Web Sites of the Week
1. Tinyurl.com — Are you sick of long URLs breaking when you send them in emails? This site creates a short URL
that redirects viewers to the original long URL. These tiny URLS never expire — never!
2. myPANTONE — This site (still in beta for another week) will include color palettes and an online community. Sounds a lot like Adobe’s kuler.
3. DigitalFilms.com — Make your own goofy online animated movie in a few minutes. In the videocast, Shellie shows you her movie!
I’d say she was hungry when she directed this opus…
4. Thinking with Type — It’s a wonderful typographic resource that covers the anatomy of a glyph, understanding type sizes, and much more.
5. typoGenerator — Enter text on this site and it searches Google Images for your words and creates a poster made up of images with matching keywords, the text you entered, and some wild effects.
