New video course shows how to master Adobe's Publish Online service.

Automation comes in many formsĀ in InDesign, from the most amazingly powerful scripts, to the simplest shortcuts. And you need to take advantage of automation whenever you can in order to maximize productivity and minimize drudgery. One semi-obscure bit of automation that has existed in InDesign for quite some time is Line Styles. They give you the ability to apply formatting on a line-by-line basis within a paragraph, and they dynamically update the formatting whenever the text reflows due to edits or changes in the text frame.

In the free movie below, David Blatner dishes out a tasty scoop of line style magic that you don’t want to miss. Check it out!
