FontHaus Releases New Bank Gothic Type Family

Press Release
FontHaus, one of the world’s largest independent font retailers, announced the release of a newly redesigned and updated Bank Gothic Family. The new six-font family has three weights with three corresponding condensed styles. All fonts include an all-new lowercase and a compliment of small caps. The family can be seen at www.fonthaus.com.
Mark Solsburg, FontHaus CEO and founder said, “Our initial release of Bank Gothic in the early ’90s was always popular despite the fact that it was an all caps, small family of four styles. FontHaus has always held the belief that one day it would take on the challenge of building-out this family, complete with an all-new lowercase, a compliment of small caps and an updated suite of punctuation necessary for 21st century typography. Much of this challenge was trying to imagine how Morris Fuller Benton would design a lowercase. It was important to stay true to the design, the period and the Benton’s aesthetic.
“FontHaus worked with some of the most talented and experienced type designers that were historically grounded and sensitive to this design project. Fortunately, Mr. Benton has left us a large selection of other great typefaces for insight and guidance. After what seemed like over a decade of planning and months of development, FontHaus is proud to present its all-new Bank Gothic family. It consists of Light, Medium and Bold weights in both a regular and a condensed style. Each font has over 325 glyphs including caps, small caps, lowercase, alternate numbers and punctuation.
“FontHaus believes it has released the most updated and authentic revival of Bank Gothic in the industry; suitable for headlines, text, print or screen. It is a strong typeface; highly readable, distinctive, versatile, fresh and relevant.”
