Design Interactivity in a Flash with Quark Interactive Designer
Designing Flash layouts without needing to know complex code is now possible within QuarkXPress. Quark Inc. announced today the availability of Quark Interactive Designer, which enables creative professionals to leverage their skills to create rich, interactive content such as interactive tours, online ads, and design-driven presentations using QuarkXPress 7.
Quark Interactive Designer puts added power in the hands of designers by allowing them to design precise and compelling Flash layouts for the Web without needing to know complicated code. That means creative professionals can utilize dedicated features for interactive buttons, animations, movies, and dozens of predefined actions for transitioning pages, playing sounds, sliding objects, and creating interactive menus.
“Quark Interactive Designer creates the opportunity to take the intricate, heavily designed printed work we’ve created for our clients and make it dynamic effortlessly,” said Steve Whittier, partner, vice president, and creative director of Factory Design Labs. “This easy-to-use software tool has single-handedly given us the power to offer more to our clients, all while saving us significant time and money. It’s always cool to find a new program that you can make something with – and then to have fun putting it to use. For us, this software is a big deal. It’s the only one of its kind, and we are already using it on projects.”
Quark Interactive Designer eliminates the need for multiple programs to produce multiple outputs and the hazards of potential conversion issues. Instead, users simply design for multiple channels inside QuarkXPress using the only Flash-creation application with built-in collaboration features in the industry.
“We see this as a great competitive advantage for our customers,” said Jürgen Kurz, Quark vice president of desktop publishing products. “Users design and create a layout once and then easily repurpose content for another format – saving hours of duplicate work and ensuring consistency. But most important, Quark Interactive Designer gives you instantaneous results. It is fun to create thriving Flash designs. You are going to love using this product.”
Quark Interactive Designer enables individual designers as well as corporate, Marcom, and retail groups to create dynamic marketing pieces in-house – all without hiring specialized development staff. Agencies can maximize the creativity of their designers by allowing the same core design group to rapidly design high-quality files in SWF file format without compromising their vision. Additionally, design students finally have one tool to fully express themselves through all channels: print, Web, and interactive presentations.
