Creo Accelerates the Prepress World at PacPrint
Creo Inc. (NASDAQ: CREO, TSX: CRE) will be attending PacPrint 2005 from May 24 to 28 in Melbourne, Australia, showcasing new solutions to help printers of all types grow their businesses and streamline operations.
"Creo continues to accelerate our customers’ businesses by offering industry-leading, innovative solutions; many of which will be demonstrated or displayed at PacPrint," said Steve Green, Creo general manager, Australia and New Zealand. At PacPrint (stand 512), Creo will be featuring its most recent workflow and proofing innovations:
New! Prinergy 3.0
Version 3.0 of the successful Prinergy® workflow system from Creo is the most significant upgrade ever. Prinergy 3.0 features major improvements in automation and versioning that deliver great value to customers. In Version 3.0, Creo introduces new automation concepts to prepress: Rules-based Automation and Unified Versioning.
Rules-based Automation: Customers can create sets of rules that Prinergy will automatically execute. Rules are created using a simple icon-based user interface that is powerful and easy to use. Automation saves customers money, reduces errors in prepress, and improves overall job turnaround time.
Unified Versioning easily handles one of a printer’s toughest tasks: producing multiple versions of a print job-a catalog with different languages and prices, for example. Unified Versioning eliminates errors and automates the entire versioning process, from input file-processing to proofing, approval and platemaking.
Prinergy 3.0 can be purchased at PacPrint and is available free to existing Prinergy customers with full Creo support contracts.
New! Brisque 5.0 and Director
The new version of Brisque®, the world’s most widely used prepress system, transforms the user experience with a new client server interface. Version 5.0 features intelligent Job Ticket automation, a new intuitive graphic user interface, and PDF preflight and trapping tools.
A new configuration option within the Prinergy product family, Director is a workflow management system that allows users to create, manage, and automate a Brisque print production workflow. Director enhances the Brisque prepress environment by providing powerful new job context, production management, and full connectivity to Networked Graphic Production™. As a result, it enables printers to streamline their production processes and increase productivity.
The combination of Brisque 5.0 and Director builds a collaborative working environment that manages and tracks the production processes across multiple Brisque servers. Users of new Brisque 5.0 and Director now have access to many of the production management features that were once specific to the Prinergy workflow, including the new rules-based automation.
At stand 512, Creo will be demonstrating integrated, Networked Graphic Production solutions, including Preps®, Synapse® UpFront, Synapse Prepare, Synapse InSite and Synapse Link connected to Prinergy and Brisque workflow solutions. Creo will also be demonstrating live integration between Creo software solutions, Prism’s management information system (MIS), and Xclusive Software’s Quark® production-planning products.
Veris Sets a New Standard for Quality Proofing
Creo will also be demonstrating the innovative Veris® proofer with its unparalleled color consistency. The revolutionary Veris proofer produces high-quality, repeatable proofs that accurately predict the final printed job. Veris meets the most demanding color needs and is qualified to many color standards, including SWOP. The Veris saves valuable time with its automated, error-reducing Creo Certified Process™, which automatically verifies that the proofer’s calibration is correct and current, that the correct color profile is used, and that the specified ink and media are loaded to provide customers with a visual assurance of the integrity of the Veris proofing process.
Visitors to the Creo stand will also experience the Creo Staccato® bar, where screening samples from commercial, packaging, and newspaper printers from around the world will be on display. Theater presentations covering Staccato screening and Spotless™ printing, Networked Graphic Production, “Why go CTP?” for commercial printers, and scanning solutions will also be staged on the Creo stand each day.
Creo solutions will also be displayed on several partner booths at PacPrint:
- A Creo Trendsetter® NEWS 100 with Print Console will be operating on the Kodak Graphic Communications Group booth (#520).
- The Creo Prinergy workflow system and the Spire™ color server will be running live at the Fuji Xerox booth (#404).
