New Contest! The Text That Wouldn’t Move
Hey folks, it’s time for another InDesign mystery that you can solve for a chance to win an awesome prize!
Here’s the scenario: You have a page with a three-column text frame at the top and an image at the bottom.
The text frame is not threaded to any others and it is nearly full with text. You’re asked by the designer in charge to delete the image at the bottom of the page and resize the text frame so the text runs to the bottom margin.
But when you do so, the text barely moves at all. It refuses to fill the new space in the text frame.
No matter how much you open up the frame, the text will not go into the space where the image was. Applying a different paragraph style to all the text doesn’t help, either.
You’re 100% certain that there is nothing else on this spread that could be affecting the text. There are no hidden objects or layers, and text wrap has not been applied anywhere.
Why won’t the text flow down to the bottom part of the text frame?
This month’s prize is a license for Multi-Find Change 2.0 from Automatication. I’ve been recommending this amazing product to InDesign users for years. It allows you to take the power of Find/Change to a whole new level, by creating batches of saved Find/Change queries. You can fix and format text faster and easier than ever—and there’s absolutely no coding involved.
There will be two winners:
