The Speckie Awards celebrate the best advertising on the planet that was killed by clients, or just never even made it to their desk. Anyone is eligible to enter – we’re all about great ideas.
Whether you’re just knocking on the door and getting your creative career started or you’re a seasoned old veteran, it’s certain you have some great ideas without a home. Enter them into the 2008 Speckie Awards today. You’ll get the recognition you deserve, without the politics and layers of approval.
Entries are as low as $10 each. Compare that to major award shows who charge you $250 so they can send their judges to Tahiti to mediate over the work for three weeks. Not us. We have judges that are just as high quality but they will be judging you from the comfort of their own homes.
Rules? Other than making sure your ad is spec and never ran anywhere other than your mom’s refrigerator, there’s just one rule:
There are over two hundred major advertising award shows in the world today. We counted them.
So why, oh why, did we delude ourselves into thinking the world needed one more?
It certainly wasn’t for the award show groupies, or the god-like ability to smite inferior work with the press of a delete button.
OK, perhaps that was part of it.
But coming from the cruel, harsh world of top level advertising ourselves, we knew that the most talented people do not always have the opportunity to win awards.
Politics. Stolen ideas. Pissy clients. Loopy lawyers. Make the logo bigger. Ideas by committee. The excuses are endless but the suffering does not have to be.
The Speckies are our way of leveling the playing field.
For everyone.
As long as you can pay our ridiculously cheap entry fee, it doesn’t matter if you’re an art director, copywriter, or the creative director’s dog. Or mom. Or even an account exec!
So dust off your dead and wounded campaigns and enter away. Our crack team of judges will pick the best ones and you’re on your way to advertising stardom.
