Bublcam: The 360° Camera
Quick: what’s even easier than a point-and-shoot camera? How about a camera that you don’t have to point at all, because it captures images in all directions at once? That’s what the makers of Bublcam are on the verge of creating with a new product they call “360° camera technology for everyone.”
Bublcam sports four lenses that capture spherical photos at 3840 X 3840 (14 mega pixels), or video at 30fps at 720p or 15fps at 1080p. A sensor will allow you to set gamma, contrast, gain, brightness and saturation. And an internal Wi-fi unit will allow you to live stream video to a computer or mobile device, and live image stitching is coming soon. The Bublcam also supports audio recording in MP3 format and audio is encoded directly into exported MP4 videos.
Bublcam comes in a variety of colors, and you can pre-order one by making a pledge of $499 or more at Kickstarter. Expected delivery is May 2014.
