Boston Print Buyers to Present: How Do You Pick a Printer?

Boston Print Buyers will host its next dinner program at the Millennium Bostonian Hotel on Wednesday, February 8, from 6 to 8:30 pm to discuss one of print buyers’ most challenging issues: How Do You Pick a Printer?

Choosing a printer to meet your organization’s needs is not a simple task. As the size of the print budget increases, so does the importance of selecting the right printer for the right job. At the February meeting, BPB founder Margie Dana will moderate a 75-minute discussion, featuring the event’s attendees themselves as the industry experts.

The program will include discussion of such topics as:

  • Is a Peer Referral All You Need?
  • One-Stop Shopping vs. Boutique Printers
  • Do You Google for Printers (and Would You Admit It?)
  • What Really Matters Most: Price, Quality, or Service?

With this meeting, BPB introduces a brand-new program format, featuring discussion rather than an educational presentation by the event sponsor. The discussion format will allow for more networking as well as broader audience input. As always, the meeting includes networking, dinner, a presentation, and a trivia contest. Preregistration is required, and only print customers, including designers and marketers, may attend.

Attendees at BPB events represent a mix of senior-level production, marketing, and creative professionals from New England and beyond. They work in many fields, including financial services, manufacturing, creative firms, ad agencies, nonprofits, higher education, retail, and corporate publishing, to name a few.

“Our attendees are some of New England’s most experienced and print-savvy professionals,” Dana noted. “This “open discussion” program will give them a chance to share their ideas with everyone else at the event. I guarantee everyone will learn something that will help them work with printers more effectively. Our sponsors will participate in the discussion as well.”

Event Sponsors
Sponsors for this event are the Alliance Print Group of Boston, MA (www.allianceprint.com) and the George Dean Company of Braintree, MA (www.ghdean.com). Alliance Print Group is a print solutions provider that has strategic relationships with a range of New England’s finest printers. They were BPB’s first event sponsor in December 2004.

George Dean is a family-owned, full-service union communications company that dates back to 1889. They offer both financial printing and commercial printing services. A few years ago, Dean added a full-service mailing and fulfillment facility. Today, they offer their customers everything under one roof.
