Billions and Billions of InDesign Videos
Someone recently pointed out a video about InDesign on youtube, and how it helped him learn how importing Excel tables worked. I followed his link and found — lo and behold — one of my own videos, something I had done for lynda.com a couple of years ago. Someone must have “ripped” it off and posted it to youtube. Sigh. But the good news is that there are lots (and lots!) of videos available for InDesign users out there.
Obviously, we are a bit biased and we like the idea of you buying the lynda.com videos (or subscribing to their online training library), as that’s part of how we make a living. But there are some awesome other video resources out there that are worth checking out, too (Mike McHugh’s are among my favorites, for example).
Instead of listing every video, in many cases, I’m including links to pages that list many other InDesign videos:
- All the InDesign Training Videos at Adobe TV
- List of InDesign Training Videos from Adobe Docs
- Lots of InDesign Training Videos from CS3, which are still good today
- All the Lynda.com Podcast Videos about InDesign
- All the Mike McHugh Creative Sweet Videos about InDesign
- Rufus Deuchler CSInsider (goes beyond InDesign)
- Importing Tables into InDesign (pirated from Lynda.com)
- Mogo-Media’s InDesign Video Podcasts
- TheInDesigner, of course
- Layers Magazine Tutorials
There are a number of “mash-up” sites out there that use other people’s videos. Their goal is to attract attention and hits and make money from advertising. This one isn’t too bad.
This site makes me sick — they’re just grabbing every other source and repackaging it as though it were their own: adobe-masters.com (I’m not even adding a link to it).
I’m sure there are plenty of others, but it’s time for me to run and get breakfast on the table for the kids!
