United Kingdom company XChange has released the following applications that work with QuarkXPress 8:
Batch Print for QuarkXPress v8 helps to streamline your printing operation by allowing groups of QuarkXPress documents to be printed automatically. Documents can be output to any PostScript printer supported by QuarkXPress, and Batch Print even supports output to disk file as well.
Simply navigate to the documents you wish to print and add them to the “Print List”. Batch Print can process hundreds of documents at a time! After selecting your documents and choosing your Page and Print setup values, just press a button and Batch Print takes care of the rest. It will open each document, set up default Page/Print setup options, and send each document to the selected printer.
Batch Print is ideal for service bureaus, in-house production departments, or any other high-volume printing environment where groups of documents must be printed quickly, easily and without the need for user intervention.
The Grabber XTensions for QuarkXPress v8 includes Copy Grabber, Tab Grabber, Math Grabber, and Text Grabber.
Copy Grabber lets you cut, copy and paste an entire column of tabular copy in two easy steps. Drag a marquee around a page area and cut or copy it to the special Copy Grabber clipboard. Paste the entire column into a different location. Great for catalogue work, annual reports, or anything else involving tabular composition.
Tab Grabber interactively adjust tab positions by dragging a marquee around the page area you wish to modify. Allows you to select and modify all tab settings without the need to edit QuarkXPress style sheets or change tab settings one at a time. Nudge a column into perfect position, change alignment or fill character.
The Text Grabber XTensions module to QuarkXPress provides a unique new way for the QuarkXPress operator to select and modify text. Rather than drag-selecting text the old-fashioned way, the Text Grabber tool lets you Marquee a complete page area instead. This selection method lets you choose exactly which text you wish to change, spanning multiple text boxes if necessary. Text Grabber is incredibly easy to use. Simply select the Text Grabber tool from the QuarkXPress tool palette, and drag the marquee around any page area you wish to modify. The selected area remains marqueed for easy reference, and the operator is presented with a dialogue similar to the XPress Character… dialogue.
The Math Grabber XTensions module to QuarkXPress allows you to perform mathematical calculations on numerical text appearing anywhere in a QuarkXPress document. Like all of the Grabbers, Math Grabber uses a unique Marquee method of text selection which makes working with tabular material (such as price charts or financial tables) incredibly fast and easy.
