Ambient Design announced the release of ArtRage 2.5 Plus, their boxed CD edition of their popular easy to use, full-featured, paint and drawing software, ArtRage. ArtRage 2.5 Plus includes exclusive content, tutorials, and demonstration movies not found in the download version of the software. ArtRage 2.5 Plus also comes with a full color, glossy, 80 page printed manual and attractive case. The cost of ArtRage 2.5 Plus is $39.95 (USD) plus shipping and handling. The software can also be purchased on line as a download, for $25.00 (USD) but does not include additional content, tutorial or demo movies.
ArtRage allows anyone to paint and draw realistically and with almost endless creative possibilities. Users have a choice of canvas size, paper and paper grains and mediums such as oils, pencils, Crayon, airbrush, chalk and markers that can be blended with the palette knife tool. Artists can also use a pre-set color pallet or customize their own for particular projects and preferences. The ArtRage 2.5 is Windows and Mac OSX compatible. It has been tested with the latest edition of Apple Mac OSX (10.5, Leopard) and also 10.3 and 10.4. It is a Universal Binary so it will run on PowerPC as well as Intel processors. For Microsoft Windows, ArtRage 2.5 is a Windows Vista Certified application and has also been tested with Windows XP and Windows 2000.

ArtRage 2.5 Features:
- Intuitive Interface: The software’s interface has been simplified and made easier for the artist to use.
- Stencils and Rulers: These look and work the way traditional media artists expect.
- Import Images to Layers: This feature allows ArtRage 2.5 to work seamlessly with other graphics applications. Artists can now import an image as a separate layer, copy and/or paste layers or paste directly from the clipboard into a new layer.
- Move, scale and rotate the content of the image layers – in groups or individually.
- Printing Resolution Support: Image files support the creation and measurements in inches, centimeters and millimeters with full control over Dots Per Inch settings. This is also retained in PSD import and export.
- Smooth Blender and Precise Pencil: Two new tools have been added for users for a more precise look to their work. The Precise Pencil works like a mechanical pencil for a precise clean line. The Smooth Blender gives soft-edge subtle blending.
- Import and Export Photoshop and Other Image Formats: ArtRage 2.5 has added additional image formats for importing and exporting. Support for Photoshop PSD layer groups and image layer names have also been added.
