AppleScript Pro Sessions To Cover Adobe Creative Suite 2

AppleScript Pro will include coverage of Adobe’s recently unveiled Creative Suite version 2 in Monterey, CA, May 2-6. As part of the event, InDesign guru, desktop publishing pioneer and author Olav Martin Kvern of Adobe Systems will present a special session on scripting XML in InDesign CS2.
“We’ve always covered multiple versions of many applications, so from that point of view it’s business as usual for us,” said Ray Robertson, session co-leader.
The sessions will devote a full day to coverage of InDesign, with a further day focusing on Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat. Other sessions cover QuarkXPress, FileMaker Pro, BBEdit, AppleScript Studio, and OS X, as well as an introductory/refresher day.
“We have some exciting new things to show,” said Shane Stanley, session co-leader. “Interest in AppleScript continues to grow, and applications like Adobe InDesign CS2 lead the way with unprecedented levels of scriptability.
“For publishing-related companies looking to customize and automate, these are exciting times. The possibilities–and potential savings–are huge. We keep hearing more and more great success stories.”
AppleScript is a uniquely approachable automation technology bundled with the Macintosh operating system. This will be the seventh session of this unique training event, and numbers are strictly limited. The classes are suited to both beginners and experienced scripters, and pricing starts at $1500 for any three days.
The sessions will be at the Casa Munras Hotel, which is in downtown Monterey and now features wireless broadband access in every room. Attendees may reserve a room at the hotel for a special group rate of $94/night (subject to availability), which includes a full breakfast.
